TUF Season 10 Episode 5 Quick Hits

Written by Gary "Rumble" Whittaker. Posted in Blogs - The Rumble

Here are my random thoughts and quick breakdown from episode 5 of The Ultimate Fighter, Season 10, Heavyweights edition:

  • So Rampage starts off the show by putting down one of his own fighters (Zek Jensen), saying, “he’s a big guy, and he got wrestling….yeah, that’s all he got going for him”.
  • Then the show moves to Wes Sims accusing Zak Jensen of leaving some of his man mayo on the shower floor. Classy.
One of the issues with not having fighters “earn” their way into the house, is that guys like Matt Mitrone won’t spend the entire episode being questioned on their ability. Mitrone is really trying to milk up as much camera time as possible.
Rashad Evans chooses Wes Sims from Team Rampage to go up against  from his team, much to the dismay of “Big Baby” Marcus Jones, who felt he was promised by Rashad to be the opponent.
Justin Wren (8-1) weighs in at 247,5, Wes Sims (22-12-1) at 251. Wes Sims shows himself to be “bigger” in every way…
Herb Dean acts like a WWE official as he tries to raise Wes Sims’ arm to see if he was still conscious from an arm triangle choke. Sims was taken down quickly, and submitted even faster in the first round. Wren moves to the next round of the competition
Nice to see Rashad Evans at least trying to “coach” Rampage on being a better coach. Typical of Rampage to see him talk over everyone and not listen to good advice. I think many started this season being fans of Rampage Jackson, who are now something less than that.
