Tipping The Scales - BOM
On behalf The Franchise Montreal, hosts Gary Whittaker and Nick Murdocco are sending out a big thank you to all of you who voted our radio show as the 8th Best Local Radio show in the annual Best of Montreal poll in the Montreal Mirror. This 8th place result in 2010 is an improvement over last year's honorable mention. Moreover, the Montreal Mirror even wrote the following about The Franchise "And the Team’s weekend morning show, The Franchise, hosted by the proudly rotund duo Gary Whittaker and Nick Murdocco, huffs, puffs and rolls its way onto the list", which we found hilarious.
We were already blown away from commentary we found recently from a German website who lists The Franchise's Weekend HABit as a must follow podcast, when they compared our format to German greats Hauser and Kienzle, who pioneered the "funny, yet informative" format of providing commentary for their audience.
The Team 990 has already seen a significant increase to its ratings for their weekend time slot between 6am and 9am because of The Franchise, a trend that we have no doubt will continue. The Franchise Montreal is all about Montreal team sports, as well as the combat sports scene, and Montrealers have continued to show their support in increasing numbers. The phone calls and emails received from fans across the country, and across the oceans, keep giving us the motivation to deliver an entertaining and unique perspective to all things Montreal.
We have some great projects that we will be announcing shortly, as well as some format changes that will take us deeper into the heart of Montreal (and hopefully the hearts of Montrealers) than ever before.

The Franchise radio show is hosted by Gary Whittaker and Nick Murdocco, and airs on The Team 990 every Saturday and Sunday from 6am to 9am.
