The Montreal Impact announced today their new development program.

The Impact Academy will now consist of a U14, U15. U16 and U21 (formally known as the Academy). The U14, U15 and U16 will be a sport-etude program associated with Edouard-Montpetit high school, for english speaking players they can attend Lester B Pearson high school. This pyramid type of program is similar to the type of development programs they have in Europe. The Impact are the first soccer club in Canada to have this type of development program.

Summary of the Academy:

- 100 players split among 4 teams (U21, U16, U15 and U14)
-Over 250 practices per year and over 50 games 
- The U21 Academy will still remain the reserve team for the Impact



Requirements for the Academy:

-Must live in Quebec and must have been born between 1995-1999
- Must have an average of 65% or higher in math and French. Must have an overall average of 75% or higher
- Must pass both tryout selection stages: the tryout as well as the final selection
- Must correspond to the individual profile sought by the club: motivation, passion and talent


Tryouts for the sport-etude program are scheduled for November 27 & 28 as well as December 27 & 28 at Centre d'activities physique et communautaires de l'Est, located near Marie-Victorin College in Montreal. An open tryout will be held in Quebec City on December 29. Registration can be done by calling 514-328-3668 ext. 240 or by going to www.impactmontreal.com
