The Franchise And Five Hole For Food
It takes a good reason for Gary Whittaker from The Franchise to be active, and there is no better reason than helping others. We were approached by Kyle Roussel while attending our first Habs Tweet Up (organised by @All_Habs), who spoke to us about this great concept called Five Hold For Food, which will hold a charity hockey game in Ile Perrot, Quebec. This will be part of a series of hockey games done across Canada which will help feed our nation's hungry. As I had talked about on Saturday's show, I was one of those kids who needed the services of groups like NDG Food Depot, so I immediately decided to jump on board and both participate and donate whatever non-perishable items I can get my hands on.
One does not need to play in the game in order to come by and donate food, or take part in some of the festivities and fun. In fact, the person who simply donates the most food will win a hockey stick which was autographed by the Montreal Canadiens! But if you can play, it will just be a fun game of regular street hockey in a local rink in Ile Perrot. Anyone can join, any age, and since I will be there, any shape and size.
For more information about Five Hole for Food, please visit their website.
To confirm your participate in the hockey game (and we need more players!!!), please contact Kyle Roussel. To read more about Kyle Roussel and his articles, check out his blog
Here is Nick Murdocco and Gary Whittaker talking more about Five Hole For Food on today's show.
