STRIKEFORCE LANDS HENDO
Former Pride welterweight and middleweight champion, Dan Henderson, has signed a four-fight contract with Strikeforce. Financial terms of the contract have not been released to the public. Henderson opted to hold out on his former employer the Ultimate Fighting Championship for more money. When the UFC neglected to agree to the contract terms Dan was asking for, Strikeforce rapidly became a hot destination for "Hendo".
Henderson, who fights at both middleweight and light heavyweight is already rumoured to be matched-up against champions, Jake Shields and Gegard Mousasi. A super-fight with the world's top heavyweight, Fedor Emelianenko, has received a lot of buzz among MMA fans on Internet forums.
During his '07-'09 stint with the UFC, Dan went 3-2, only losing to champions, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and Anderson Silva. In his last bout at UFC 100, Dan shut up Michael Bisping by knocking him unconscious in the second round. Before their fight, the winner was promised a UFC title shot against middleweight champ, Anderson Silva. However, the UFC didn't hold up to their end of the bargain and Dan was never given his second shot at Silva.
