Ringside III Updated Fight Card

Written by Gary "Rumble" Whittaker. Posted in Blogs - The Rumble

Mike Ricci suffered an injury during his training camp, and will be unable to compete on September 19th. While the extent of the injury is not known to us at this time, we have learned that it is not going to keep Ricci out for an extended period of time. More details as soon as it becomes available.

In his place facing Lindsey Hawkes will be another Franchise Favorite in Guillaume "Il Toro" de Lorenzi. Along with Bossé, this will be de Lorenzi's debut at a smaller weight class. "Il Toro" is coming off a devastating loss to War Machine at the last XMMA event, one that required him to take approx 6 months off to rehabilitate his knee.

Ringside III- Battle for the Belt is a huge event for the Ringside MMA Promotion. This will be it's first 5 round championship match, between Warrior One's current LHW title holder Craig "Farmer" Brown and a slimmer Steve "The Boss" Bossé. Bossé had previously been competing in the Heavyweight division, but was always viewed as undersized for that class. In fact, he only weighed in at 217 pounds for his last fight against Yan Pellerin. Brown is arguably Bossé's biggest threat yet, since he is better technically on the ground than any other of Bossé's previous opponents.

Ringside III also marks the return of Thierry "The Surgeon" Quenneville to MMA action, and he is going in there with one of UK's top prospects in Paul Reed. Both of these fighers have a very strong stand up game, but are also well versed on the ground. Reed has been training in BJJ and Judo for "a long time" but also knows that any fight in MMA is "just one punch away" from being over. Reed is unimpressed by the fact of Quenneville's training at TriStar, saying "Joe Calzaghe trained in a tin hut in a remote part of wales and went over to North America and beat the best guys". We interviewed Thierry Quenneville in depth, and the interview will air on Saturday's show.

We will also be reviewing this entire card with Alex Caporicci, matchmaker for Ringside, on Sunday's show
