ringsideIIv3Marc Blackburn vs Chris Clements - MAIN EVENT - Middleweight (185)

Chris Clements has a lot of challenges in front of him Saturday night. He's currently riding a 2 fight win streak and is trying to regain his status as Canada's best welterweights...but this fight will be happening at middleweight! His record of the fatest KO in a pro MMA fight was tied recently, and his opponent's only 2 opponents have only lasted a combined 15 seconds. For Marc Blackburn, he has an opportunity to really put his name on the map. Kudo's for him on taking the fight with short notice to replace Martin Grandmont who had himself stepped up to replace an injured Derek Gauthier. Yet it will all be for naught if he suffers his first loss against "The Menace" Chris Clements.

Guillaume Lamarche vs Will Romero at Featherweight (145)

This is expected to an absolute war between these two fighters. "The Showman" Guillaume Lamarche is looking to avenge his loss against Johan Croes, who has a similar standup style to Will Romero. Trained by Team Bergeron, Lamarche has very strong striking abilities, but his ground skills are not to be overlooked either. Will Romero loves Muay Thai, but he not only survived a 3 round war with Mitch Gagnon, he proved he was no slouch on the ground either. The winner of this match will be considered as one of the best fighters at Featherweight, and could find themselves fighting for a new Featherweight belt in November.

Sean Pierson vs Jason Rorison at Welterweight (170)

"Pimp Daddy" Sean Pierson is fighting for a shot to be considered for the UFC if Dana White's plans to host an event at the Skydome can happen in 2010. In order to do that, Sean needs to improve the quality of his opponents, and get back to being viewed as a top contender at the Welterweight division. This is the same guy that beat Steve Vigneault twice! Jason Rorison is a hard nosed undefeated fighter from the Maritimes. He's got some confidence, handing previously unbeaten Montreal trained fighter Christopher Hulme his first loss of his career, but will be hoping Karma doesn't play a factor for him to get his first loss in Montreal.

John Makdessi vs Iraj Hadin at Lightweight (155)

Be careful what you ask for, because you just might get it! John "The Bull" Makdessi was begging to get back into the ring and fight again. Ringside obliged him, but with a man who will be the toughest opponent of his career. Iraj Hadin is a tough, and tall, lightweight opponent, who will pose a big challenge for Makdessi. Hadin may be able to use his size advantage and get this fight to the ground. Or, he just may be willing to stand and bang it out with Makdessi, and hope to catch him coming in.

Louis-Philippe Carle vs Eric Muir at Welterweight (170)

LP Carle showed up at the first Ringside event with legendary trainer Firaz Zahabi in his corner. His performance showed the kind of improvement you would expect for a TriStar trained fighter. Carle has all the tools to become a player on the national scene, and Eric Muir could be his first legit test in maintaining main card status. Muir has been inactive for over a year, but is undefeated in 2 pro fights (according to Sherdog).

Christopher Boisvert vs Kevin Morin at Lightweight (155)

It's not often that two of Quebec's best schools face off against each other using some of their best prospects, but that is the case here as Team Bergeron's "The Tank" Boivert takes on Team Legion's Kevin Morin. Boivert has a solid amateur record and an impressive debut victory in Warrior One. Kevin Morin get a quick submission victory in his pro debut at the first Ringside card in May. Boivert has the superior striking, and is actually rated as a higher prospect, so it is his bout to lose. Can Morin pull of the upset?

Also on the card

Benoit Guionnet vs Michael Karkula at Lightweight (155)

Ringside II is happening on Saturday, August 22nd at Club Soda. Tickets can be purchased through the Ticketpro website or by calling then at 514) 790-1111.
