Feb 17 Ringside 6 To Feature 2 New Champions

MMA in Quebec is back on the rise! Ringside has announced that they will be holding their 6th event on April 10th in Quebec City, Quebec. This will be the 4th major MMA event in the Province of Quebec this year and the 2nd for Ringside MMA. While matchmaker Joey Benoit may be new to Ringside, this is still far from being his first rodeo. Joey Benoit was previously the matchmaker for the new defunct XMMA promotion, who had taken over from TKO as the top MMA promotion until legal issues halted operations.

At this time, only 2 fights have been announced, with both of them for a championship belt. Guillaume "Il Toro"de Lorenzi, who had recently signed a 3 fight deal for Ringside, will find his first fight for Ringside under his new contract a battle for the lightweight title. His opponent will be the highly regarded Ryan Machan who is coming off a victory over "Ragin'" Kajan Johnson, who was the only person to hold the XMMA lightweight title. De Lorenzi has looked very impressive since dropping to lightweight, in his two wins over Lindsey Hawkes and Sebastien Garguier. De Lorenzi is coming off an injury which kept him out of Ringside 5.

The other fight will a battle for Ringside's new featherweight belt, between "The Showman" Guillaume Lamarche and wrestling phenom Mitch Gagnon. Lamarche showed much improved ground skills to go along with his formidable striking when he bested Randy Steinke from Arizona. Lamarche is the real deal who has the full package, but he takes on a much smaller, but also much improved Mitch Gagnon who absolutely out-struck the potent striker Stephane Bernadel. Both of those fighters share a loss against the previous number 1 contender Will Romero, who has been signed to Bellator's FW tournament.
