Ricci Out, Martin Grandmont To Take on Southern in Ringside Triple Threat

Written by Gary "Rumble" Whittaker. Posted in Blogs - The Rumble

As first reported by Ultimefanatic, and confirmed by Matchmaker Alex Caporicci, Martin "The Hammer" Grandmont has stepped in to replace Mike Ricci at the upcoming Ringside - Triple Threat card on January 30th at the Complex Sportif Claude Robillard. Mr Caporicci has been a busy man with trying to maintain not just a quality main event, but a quality triple main event, which has seen two of Quebec's biggest MMA prospects be removed. Guillaume de Lorenzi was due to injury, and a formal announcement has yet to be made by the Ricci camp as to why Ricci had to opt out. The Franchise will not get into speculation, but will instead wait for word from either Ricci's manager Mitch Mayberger, or Mike Ricci himself.

Ringside MMA fans will love watching Martin Grandmont, who is currently riding a 4 fight win streak, deal with a very tough opponent in Kurt Southern. Grandmont's fight against Mark Holst at Warrior 1 was one of the best single rounds I have ever seen in an MMA fight, and with only a week before being part of the main event, Grandmont knows he will need to leave it all in the Octagon if he hopes to come out victorious for a 5th straight time.
