"The Joker" Carle to face TUF Amasinger on April 2nd
Casino Rama, in partnership with Knockout Entertainment Canada, will be the 1st Canadian based MMA promotion to hold an official MMA event now that Ontario has legalized the sport, and on the card will be rising prospect Louis-Philippe Carle, AKA "The Joker". He will take on "Renegade" Dean Amasinger, who was able to fight his way into the Ultimate Fighter house on season 9 - Team USA vs TEAM UK, but lost to Damarquez Johnson in Episode 5. Carle was turning heads as a force to be reckoned with during his 6 fight win streak, until a slip against Simon Marini allowed his opponent to take advantage and slap on a rear naked choke for the win. Carle bounced back by beating the undefeated local favorite Rio Wells in Edmonton at TFC 12 in December.
Quebec MMA fans have seen tremoundous growth in Carle, by stopping an increasingly tougher series of opponents and displaying new skills in each match . "The Joker" has developed into a well rounded fighter who is now facing his toughest competition in Amasinger in front of what could be his biggest audience at the 5000 seat capacity Casino Rama. One only has to remember what beating former TUF contestant Corey Hill did for Mark Holst, who was able to get 2 fights in the UFC before being released. The Reckoning takes place on April 2nd, 2010.
