PWR Audio Interview with Rashad Evans, John Danaher, Phil Nurse, Firas Zahabi and more!
I was fortunate enough to attend the 1st ever Paradise Warrior Retreat in Montreal last weekend on behalf of Authority MMA and Lifestyle Magazine. This was PWR's 2nd time in Canada, and the 1st time Tristar and Zahabi MMA opened its doors to the public for a seminar with coaches of this caliber. In addition to Firas Zahabi, the list of high profile coaches included former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans, highly touted prospect Jon "Bones" Jones, Muay Thai coach Phil Nurse from New York and legendary BJJ coach John Danaher. I was one of the privileged few who were allowed media accreditation for this seminar, and it was an experience I will never forget.
Paradise Warrior Retreat founder Yoram Gazit was not only impressed with the city of Montreal, but also his new found bond with Firas Zahabi. He talks about the success of the seminar in Montreal, and his plans to return whenever and however Firas wants!

Along with founder Yoram Gazit, Firas Zahabi was the main organiser for this seminar that included some of the great cast and crew who have supported both Georges St-Pierre, and many of the other great internationally known MMA stars who come to Montreal to train. My longest interview of the day was with BJJ expert John Danaher. My conversation with him was at least twice as long as the interview, and I can tell you that this man is absolutely fascinating. There are not many people in life who you meet that within 5 minutes of conversation, you feel like sitting down and just absorbing as much information as you can from this individual. There is a natural teacher like quality to this man that has people hanging on his every word. He can be seen on this season's The Ultimate Fighter reality show, which he talks a bit about what people can expect from this season, as well as one of the major misconceptions regarding Georges St-Pierre that he wants to see corrected.

I was able to hang around long enough to get a tired Rashad Evans at the end of the extended weekend. While not a long interview, we got a chance to talk about how the cerebral approach to coaching impacts both his training, and his ability to deal with the mind games played by his opponents, including Rampage Jackson.
