POLL: Best moves made by GM Pierre Gauthier for 2010-2011 season

Written by Gary "Rumble" Whittaker. Posted in Blogs - The Rumble

The Montreal Canadiens sit in 8th place in the Eastern Conference after 39 games, thanks to a strong start which saw them leading the Northeast division for most of the year. They are currently only 1 point behind Boston for top spot in their division, however the Bruins hold three games in hand. Had you told people that in addition to making Carey Price play in 35 of 39 games, that Andrei Markov would only play in 7 games this year, and finally that Spacek and Hamrlik would arguably be having the worst seasons of their career, fans would have hailed this result as miraculous. 4 players are on pace for 20 goals seasons (Plekanec, Kostitsyn, Gionta and Cammalleri), while Carey Price is only 5 wins away from tying the most wins he has had in his career. Price is already on pace for career bests in GAA and Save Percentage.

Montreal Canadiens fans have historically had a "what have you done for me lately" attitude, so given that the Canadiens ended 2010 with a win against the Florida Panthers, we wanted to get your take on the best moves made so far by GM Pierre Gauthier.

i was surprised by the amount of commentary regarding the trade of Lapierre being a great move made by Jacques Martin. Feel free to write it in the comments if you feel the same way.
