Message to the facebook group members of MMA EXPO Montreal from President Gerald Chopik

“Sometimes you just gotta tap."

MOST REGRETABLY… we are compelled to reschedule MMA Expo Montreal until the Spring of 2010.

This was definitely not an easy decision to make a month out from the event however I believe strongly that when you pay to attend MMA Expo you have a right to expect a vibrant and well-supported event. Unfortunately the uptake by exhibitors for the Montreal show in October was less than expected and as a result we could not guarantee you the high calibre event we have a reputation for delivering.

In the best interest of our clients – exhibitors, competitors and attendees - I decided it was much better to “tap” – i.e. absorb the financial loss and the flack that comes with rescheduling and work towards a stronger event in 2010.

To those companies and brands that did commit to participation, and to the 700+ Facebook members that already joined this group, our sincere thank you for your support. It really is appreciated and we hope that you interpret our decision to reschedule Montreal as evidence of that appreciation.

MMA Expo continues to thrive in other regions and we have a lot happening for 2010. Vancouver is coming up in April. Sales for June Toronto are already ahead of 2009 at this point. And we are about to announce Philadelphia, PA for January and Atlantic City, NJ for August.

We’ll keep you posted on the progress for Montreal 2010.
