MFL Talks About Their Support of The Red Cross, And Next Event
Mixed Fight League held a press conference today at the Boulevard Lounge located at 10215 Boul. St-Laurent in Montreal. Antony Horng was the MC for the event, as he makes his return to the MMA scene since being the official ring announcer for TKO MMA. Dirk Waardenburg, President of MFL, started the press conference by talking about the qualify of the card for MFL 2 Battleground, nnd talking a bit about their involvement with the Red Cross for this event. Mr, Waardenburg also took the opportunity to announce that MFL would held their 3rd MMA event in Sherbrooke, Quebec on May 29th.
David "The Crow" Loiseau, Steve "The Boss" Bossé and Bruno "Le Commando" Hosier represented a stacked line up of Quebec based and international MMA talent for MFL 2: Battleground. Both Loiseau and Bossé commented on how impressed they were by the level of talent that has been signed to MFL 2, but I think the quote of the day belonged to Hosier who said, "I surprised a lot of people when I came onto the MMA scene, and I will surprise a lot of peole when I win again at MFL 2" (paraphrased from French).
In terms of assisting with the Haitian relief effort, Claude McKinnon (Head of Marketing) said that the MFL will donate 2$ from every ticket sale, as well as donate 100% of the earnings from an in-ring auction that will happen during intermission. There will be a series of great items available for purchase, including life size autographed digital prints of David Loiseau and Steve Bosse, signed MMA gear and much much more. There will also be a table set up for the Red Cross for people who want to make donations.
