MFL 3 - Major Fight Results
The 3rd gala for the MFL took place Saturday night at the Centre Pierre Charbonneau. This results are courtesy of Sebastien Krafft who tweeted up to the minute results via our @thefranchiseca twitter account. The commentary below is from Gary Whittaker.
Tom Murphy walks to the ring with no gloves on! Gary Goodridge has taken off before the fight!!!
This is the 2nd straight time Murphy has "lost" an opponent just before the fight. Not clear to me if this will count as a win for Murphy, because it was announced as such, by DQ
Ferrid Kheder def. Steve Berger by tko (ground and pound)round2,1:26
Kheder was far superior over a fighter whose better days are behind him
John Makdessi def. Bendy Casimir by unanimous decision
Makdessi stuck to a clear gameplan almost the entire night, and dominated a high caliber fighter
Bryan Rafiq def. Marcus Celestin by submission (guillotine) round3, 2:26
This was a war between these two men, which ended in bitter disappointment for Celestin and his coach Firas Zahabi.
Martin Grandmont vs Jess Liaudin bout scrapped. Liaudin did not show up!
According to Don Wilson of TOPMMANEWS.com, Liaudin's camp advised the promotion that Liaudin was not physically able to compete
Ricardeau François def. Bruno Hosier by tko corner stoppage round2, 5:00
Bruno Hosier has got to development a ground game.
Sébastien Garguier def. David GuiGui by submission (strikes) round2, 0:28
Garguier was just too tough an opponent for David to take on after such a long layoff.
Joey Gambino def. Matthew Spisak by submission (strikes) round2, 4:58
Gambino physically manhandled a bigger man who came out to win
Yohan Gariépy def. Benoit Guionnet by tko round2, 4:01
Huge win by Team Legion over a very tough member of BTT-Gamma
Dave Bédard def. Christ Franck by tko (ground and pound) round1, 3:30
Bedard almost seemed too focused on trying to tear Frank's head from his body, but he ended up pounding his way to victory
Lee Villneuve def. Chris Vorano by tko (ground and pound) round1, 2:40
Vorano puts on a great performance, as per usual, and gives as good as he gets, until his opponent secures the win. I think Vorano can be a force if his camp would develop his skills about lesser opponents than beasts like Villeneuve.
Jonathan Bélair def. Dave Despatie by submission kimura round2, 2:16
These two warriors started off the night in spectacular fashion.
