Habs Get Happy Ending, Beat Leafs in OT
Franchise Game Points
Someone had better start watching Jaroslav Halak for nervous ticks. After facing 137 shots in his last 3 games, the Maple Leafs add another 49 shots for a total of 186 shots, with only 6 goals allowed. And he STILL is not guaranteed to play the next game, nor is he guaranteed to move to a team before the trade deadline despite leading the Canadiens to their 4th straight win. Halak keeps saying that he is a "team guy" and that he loves Montreal, but as a competitor, there is no way he is happy if he has to ride the bench during a hot streak like this one.
Markov, who added another 2 assists tonight against Toronto, now has 3 goals, and 3 assists in the 4 games played since returning from injury. Perhaps as a sign that he is ready to led Team Russia to Olympic gold, Markov has led the Canadiens in ice team in the last 3 games.
Has Scott Gomez finally found his niche? Gamez now has 1 goal and 6 assists in his last 5 games, and is a +3.
Habs Inside Out is tweeting that Andrei Kostitsyn's OT winner against Toronto was the 19999th goal in the history of the Montreal Canadiens (in both the NHA and NHL), and 19000th as an NHL club.
Pacioretty and Pouliot led the team with 4 shots on goal each. With both being -1, Canadiens may think getting too many shots on net is a bad thing....
