Habs Game 12 Preview: Canadiens vs Blue Jackets
Hope you all took a snap shot when the Canadiens were tops in the NHL in points. While Montreal is likely to stay in contention for top spot in the East for at least the next few games (currently tied with Tampa Bay in points), the Canadiens schedule will be much tougher in the month of November, with Vancouver, Boston, Philadelphia and Los Angeles on the schedule. The Canadiens will start the month on the road, first going to Columbus, then Buffalo, before coming back home to face the Senators.

The Skinny on the Canadiens
Public enemy number 1, Jaroslav Spacek, is expected to be sitting out in today's game. He should have set up against Florida, but better late than never. With Spacek out, PK Subban steps to take his spot in being paired with Hamrlik, while his roster spot it being taken by Picard who finds himself with Andrei Markov. Will be interesting to see who will get more ice time between those two new pairings, and the calm, cool, and steady Gill and Gorges.
The power play is ridiculously bad. Horribal. Pitiful. And 29th in the league. But the good news is that 67% of their goals have come on the road. Bad news is that we are only talking about 2 goals in 15 opportunities.
Carey Price is probably off to the best start of his NHL career after 10 games, however both he and the team have let in 5 goals in the last 2 games, while his counterpart tonight is Mathieu Garon, and his 1.61 GAA and .938 Save Percentage. While Garon is no one's number 1 goaltender, on a 1 game basis against his former team from his home province, he should be tough to beat.
And who will be trying to beat him? Canadiens only have 2 scoring lines...and I am not talking about their top 6. Plekanec, alongside Kostitsyn and Cammalleri have scored almost 50% of the Canadiens goals this season. 2nd place has been Pouliot, Halpern and Darch with 7 goals. Jacques Martin seems like he is serious about getting his 1st line more help, as he brings back Boyd to play with Eller and Lapierre, who have shown some offensive flair, albeit without any consistency.
