Feb 25 Fedor vs. Werdum in Jeopardy, Overeem vs. Fedor in the Works?

The world's top heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko and Brazilian jiu jitsu ace Fabricio Werdum's expected April bout is now unlikely. The Fedor and Werdum clash, which would have aired on CBS was everything but official. Details are still vague, however, a reported hand injury to Fedor at the World Combat Sambo Championships may have influenced the status change of the fight.

On the bright side of this outcome, Strikeforce heavyweight champ Alistair Overeem could step up to face Fedor on a later date. Overeem recently told the Japanese press that he's looking for a March to June bout in Strikeforce and his focus is on Emelianenko only. Alistair has a scheduled MMA bout in April for the Glory promotion but it should be an easy, injury free win for "The Reem".

Brett Rogers and Bobby Lashley could fill-in and face Werdum on the April CBS card if Emelianenko is out. Rogers is coming off his only pro loss to Fedor and then undefeated Lashley just tore through journeyman Wes Sims.

Making his debut in Strikeforce on the CBS card is Dan Henderson as he will face middleweight champ Jake Shields in a championship bout.
