Calvillo Returning, Cahoon Retiring

A familiar face will be missing from the wide receiver core this season. Ben Cahoon announced his retirement from the Montreal Alouettes after 13 seasons which saw him eanr 2 most outstanding Canadian awards, 10 time eastern all-star, and 2 time Grey Cup most outstanding Canadian, among many of is accomplishments. Sean Campbell of The TEAM 990 had an interesting anecdote of when Cahoon first started in the CFL under then coach Don Matthews. Matthews had told Calvillo of his plans to move Cahoon to a slotback, and Calvillo immediately did not agree with that decision, thinking that the diminutive player simply couldn't take the punishment. After 6 games, Matthews went back to Calvillo with an "I told you so". Well, since then, Cahoon has gone on to catch more passes than any other player in CFL history, and is also 6th in reception yards. The only question left for CFL would be, is Cahoon the best wide receiver in CFL history?
