Als Put Stamp on First Overall
Anthony Calvillo didn't need any help from the defence this time as he throws for 4 TD's, including 1 on a 3rd down conversion, to route the Calgary Stampeders 32-11 on Thanksgiving Monday in Montreal. Calgary was simply unable to get any sustained pressure on Calvillo, in part due to a great blocking and running performance by back up Brandon Whitaker. Whitaker replaced an injured Avon Cobourne and got 90 yards on the ground, as well as 4 catches and several key blocks to help keep the pressure off the ageless Quarterback.

With this win, the Alouettes have clinched first place overall with 12 wins, including 5 straight. Calgary and Saskatchewan each have 8 wins to lead the West, but Montreal has now beaten both teams twice. Brian Bratton, who was a guest of The Franchise radio show on the Team 990 this past Saturday, had a season best 4 catches for 75 yards. Montreal will be welcoming the Hamilton Ti-Cats on Sunday, as Hamilton looks to stop their 2 game losing skid and hold on to 2nd place in the East.
