Als Accept Decision by CFL
CFL Commissioner Mark Cohon has decided not to accept any of the Alouettes' recommendation of either restarting the game from the "offending" act, or declare the game a tie, but in fact to let the game stand as is, with no disciplinary action towards the officials. The BC Lions will play the 2nd game of the home-home series against the Alouettes in Montreal on Sunday, September 13th, at 1pm. Please note that there will be a special FOOD DRIVE to feed the humger at the game, so please make sure to bring a non-perishable item or make a cash donation.
As per the following press release, the Alouettes are not happy with the decision, but will respect it nevertheless:
Montreal, Sept . 9, 2009 - After receiving CFL Commissioner Mark Cohon's decision regarding the Montreal Alouettes' official protest earlier this week, Alouettes' President and CEO Larry Smith said the following:
"We are disappointed with the major blunder and material error by the on-field and sideline officials - an error recognized by the CFL - that is costing us at least a tie.
We do, however, accept Commissioner Mark Cohon’s decision.
All of our energy is now focused on our next game, this Sunday at Percival Molson Stadium."
