Alcine vs Canclaux - Alcine is Confident!

December 3rd: Former WBA world champion Joachim "Ti-Joa" Alcine (31-1-0, 19KO), has spent the last 2 days in Montreal  since returning 2 days ago from his training camp in Vero Beach, Florida with his trainer, the famed James McGirt. Alcine says he is more confident than ever, "This time I spent much more time with my new trainer, and we understand each other better. I know Canclaux is hungry and thinks that I am vulnerable. I expect to be at my best Saturday night". His opponent this Saturday, December 5th, at the Casino de Montréal, is Christophe « Rocky » Canclaux (40-2-0, 25KO), a former European champion (from 2003-2007), ranked #4 WBC, #6 WBA, #9 IBF, from Nice, France. Clanclaux has been in Montreal since Sunday.

The officials for this bout were announced this morning by Michel Hamelin, Director of Combat Sports with the RACJ, and the WBO. This championship match is scheduled for 12 rounds. The referee for this match will be Marlon B. Wright. The judges will be Charles Chenouf from Paris, France, Clarck Sammartino from Rhodes Island and Jack Woodburn from Montréal. Le superviseur will be John Duggan from Illinois.

A total of 7 fights including one involving the last winner of the american reality series, the Contender, Troy Ross (22-1-0, 15KO). The first bout is expected to start at 7pm at the Casino de Montréal. Also on the card are Tony Luis (7-0-0, 2KO), Logan McGuinness (8-0-0, 4KO), Wayne John (1-0-0, 1KO) and Lucia Larcinese (3-4-0, 1KO).

The fight card will be televised live as of 10pm on the V network, and the main event of Alcine vs Canclaux is expected to begin at 11pm.
