One of my favorite Montreal Expos was elected into the Hall of Fame today, having received just over 77% of the votes (75% requirement). It took 9 attempts before Andre "The Hawk" Dawson was voted in, but despite that, Dawson still has not decided which cap he will wear.
Dawson has played for 4 teams in his Major League career (Expos, Cubs, Red Sox, Marlins), mostly with the Montreal Expos (10 full seasons). However, he did move to the Cubs in order to prolong his career, and that was where he was named the league's MVP (Dawnon had come in 2nd place twice playing for the Expos). Dawson was also an 8 time All Star, however 5 of those were playing on the soft grass of Wrigley Field. The Hawk was a fearsome defender of the outfield, having won 8 gold gloves awards (6 as a Montreal Expo).
Whatever Andre Dawson decides, he will always be a 'Spo in the hearts and minds of Montrealers
