USL Sides With Impact On Sandro Grande Case

Written by Nick Murdocco. Posted in Blogs - Nick Murdocco

According to their press release,

The Montreal Impact received Monday a letter from the United Soccer Leagues First Division (USL) confirming that the league endorsed the actions taken by the club towards Sandro Grande, notably on salary related issues.

Following a complaint filed by Sandro Grande with the league July 22, the USL confirmed that the Impact had the right to release Grande and in the process, to put an end to the salary agreement due to a contract breach.

"We thought about and analyzed this situation by looking thoroughly at Sandro's contract. Today, we are glad to see that the league supports our decision," declared Impact President Joey Saputo.

According to the process, Grande has seven calendar days to dispute the decision by sending the issue to binding arbitration.
