The Montreal Impact signed a 2-1 win against the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) Citadins, Saturday at the Bell Sports Complex, in Brossard, in its 14th preseason game of the training camp.

Impact midfielder Sandro Grande scored the first goal of the game on a penalty kick, in the first few minutes of the first half, after a foul on Rocco Placentino in the 18-yard box. Forward Peter Byers scored the game-winning goal half way through the second half.

"We gave the opportunity to many players to play that game, allowing players who had played a lot lately to rest," said Impact head coach John Limniatis. "The Citadins gave us a good opposition today. It was another great preparation for us."

Two players trying out with the Impact played their first preseason game: Belgium defender Mohama Zanzan Atte-Oudeyi, who played 60 minutes, and Gambian forward Pa Mamadou Gai, who played the entire 90 minutes of the game.

The Impact will play its last exhibition game against Syracuse University, Tuesday at 3 pm, in Syracuse.

The Impact will kick off its regular season on Saturday, April 18, against the Battery in Charleston. Season tickets are currently available by calling 514-328-3668
