Roberto Brown Notches 2 in Impact Win
Make that 5 consecutive games that the Impact go unbeaten.
Striker Roberto Brown put away two goals at the 23rd and 69th minute to lead the Impact, now 11-10-6 to a 2-1 win against the Cleveland City Stars (3-17-7), Saturday afternoon at Middlefield Cheese Stadium, in Bedford, near Cleveland.
This marks the first time Brown has ever scored twice in the same game in his USL-1 career and the first time the Impact played over .500 since June 23rd when they were 5-4-2.

With this win the Impact sits alone with 39 points in 5th place in the USL First Division standings, one point ahead of Rochester. A loss or a tie by Miami tonight against Austin would ensure the Impact a spot in the playoffs.
Both of Brown’s goals were headers that he deflected off the crosses of Peter Byers and Leonardo Dilorenzo. "I'm very happy to have contributed to today's victory," said Brown. "On the second goal, I only had to head Leo's (Di Lorenzo) perfect cross. This win will give us even more confidence, plus we will keep our rhythm for the playoffs."
And the Impact could not have picked a better time to hit their stride. Montreal has three games left in the regular season with two of them at home against teams below them in the standings (Vancouver and Minnesota) and the last game of the season being the grudge match against the Railhawks in Carolina.
Good news for the Impact as well is that they are relatively injury free. Even midfielder and veteran Patrick Leduc made it back to the pitch after a long convalescence. This was his first game since August 27th, 2008. Leduc had been sidelined for more than 12 months with a stress fracture on his right foot. He went through surgery last May.
Montreal looks to keep the fire burning and put more distance between them and both Rochester and Vancouver when they meet the Whitecaps this Wednesday at Saputo Stadium. First touch is at 7:30PM.
