ROBERT LANG UNDERWENT SUCCESSFUL SURGERY TO REPAIR A SEVERED ACHILLES TENDON
What a fateful night for Robert Lang who began the evening by being awarded the Molson's Cup for player of the month of January. It seemed like he was off to a great night as he scored at the 18th minute mark of the first to put Montreal up 1-0, but in the third period, Lang went down to the ice after a battle along the boards and eventually had to be helped off the ice as he headed to the Canadiens dressing room.
It was later discovered that Lang had suffered a severed achilles tendon and was rushed to the Hospital. According to the Montreal Canadiens press release:

Robert Lang
underwent successful surgery to repair a severed Achilles tendon on his left leg. The 38-year old forward is presently recovering from surgery and will be out indefinitely.
Lang suffered the injury during the third period of Sunday afternoon’s game against the Boston Bruins, at the Bell Centre. He was transferred to the Montreal General Hospital where surgery was performed on Sunday night.
