QMJHL - Montreal Juniors Take Game 3 In Rouyn-Noranda, Whipping the Huskies 4-1

Written by Nick Murdocco. Posted in Blogs - Nick Murdocco

T.J. Brennan and Nick Layton's three point night and Jake Allen’s 21 saves allowed the Juniors to retake the lead in their first round series against the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies on Tuesday night. With a 4-1 win, the Junior now lead the playoff series 2-1.

Rouyn-Noranda would strike first at the 9:53 mark, when Gabriel Lévesque would beat Jake Allen to give Rouyn-Noranda an early lead. The Junior would even the score at 16:45 when Louis-Marc Aubry scored his second goal of the series getting the puck past Rouyn-Noranda net-minder Mickael Audette. Jake Allen would then shut the door on Rouyn-Noranda for the remainder of the game, as the Junior went on to score three unanswered goals.

The second period would produce only one goal, as T.J. Brennan would give the Junior the lead, which they would not relinquish. Up 2-1 entering the third, Brennan would add two more helpers to the score sheet as both Toni Ritter and Nick Layton would tally power-play goals for the Junior, bringing the final score of game three to 4-1 in favor of the Junior.

Game four will be played tomorrow night in Rouyn-Noranda at 7:35pm. The teams will return to Montreal on Friday night for game five beginning at 7:35pm at the Verdun Auditorium.

Don't forget, you have until 8AM tomorrow morning to get your entry in for the chance to win 1 of 14 pairs of Juniors tickets for the Friday night home game 5.
