QMJHL - Montreal Juniors End Long Road Trip with 3-1 Loss to Quebec Remparts
Fresh off their 6-1 win against the Huskies on Wednesday night, the Juniors faced the Quebec Remparts tonight in the final game of their seven game roadtrip, falling to Quebec by a 3-1 final score.
Right-wing Mikhail Stefanovich, of the Remparts got his team on the board and out of the first period with a one goal lead at the 19:35. Going into the second Angelo Esposito made sure his return to Quebec wouldnt go unnoticed, after being traded by the Remparts in the off-season to Montreal, when he potted a goal against goalie Charles Lavigne to tie the game at one. The tie game would not last long as the Remparts struck again, as Dmitri Kugryshev beat goalie Jake Allen to restore his team's lead at 2-1.
Down a goal going into the third, the Juniors were unable to convert on any of their chances. With Jake Allen pulled in the final minute of the game, the Rempart's Benjamin Breault put the puck into the empty net to solidify the Remparts win.
The Juniors, having gone 2-5-0 on their road-trip, will return home for a Monday night matchup against the Halifax Mooseheads at 7pm, followed by a visit from the Val-d'Or Foreurs on Friday night at 7:30pm.
