Pier-Antoine Dion traded to Cape Breton
The Montreal Juniors Hockey Club made one of what some are speculating to be a few announcements concerning personnel changes within the team roster today as the QMJHL trade period is still underway.
The Juniors traded 18 year-old forward Pier-Antoine Dion to the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles in return of 18 year-old forward Patrick Lapostolle , who is in his first season in the “Q”. Montreal also got a second round pick in 2011.

So far this season, Dion had tallied 10 goals and 10 assists, accumulated 64 penalty minutes and was a minus 3 in 37 games with the Juniors. He will move on to join former Juniors Taylor Macdougall and Luke Adam.
Lapostolle, in his rookie season, has 6 goals, 3 assists and is minus 6 while only accumulating 8 penalty minutes in the same span. He will fit nicely into Pascal Vincent’s plans as the rebuilding and molding of a team more to Vincent’s liking continues.
The trade announcement everyone is waiting for can only come some time tomorrow as no announcement involving players participating in the World Junior Championships can be announced until after said tournament is over.
Jake Allen, Goalie for Team Canada and for the time being, a Montreal Junior, is expected, allegedly, to be suiting up for the Drummondville Voltigeurs when all is said and done. In return, the Juniors are to receive the Voltigeurs’ first round picks for 2010 and 2011, which, rumor has it, would be returned to Drummondville in exchange for players already predetermined.
We’ll keep you posted.
