Montreal, October 31st, 2009 - After their victory over the Halifax Mooseheads, the Montreal Juniors were going for their second straight win on the road as they faced the Prince Edward Island (P.E.I.) Rocket tonight in Charlottetown.  In the end, the Juniors were victorious.  Montreal goaltender Jean-Francois Berube led the way as the Juniors shutout the Rocket 3 to 0.  Vincent Scopelletti, Trevor Parkes, and Philippe Fontaine scored the three Juniors goals.

There was limited action in the first as both teams were held off the score sheet.  The shots were even 7 to 7.  Just seven minutes into the second, the Juniors took lead when defenseman Vincent Scopelletti scored his first of the season from winger Guillaume Asselin and captain Nicolas Chouinard.  Montreal doubled the lead when Trevor Parkes scored on the penalty shot at 11:44 for his eighth of the season.  The shots in the second were even again at 7 for each team.  The score going to the third was Montreal 2, P.E.I. 0.

In the third period, forward Philippe Fontaine added the empty netter for his first of the season to seal it for the Juniors at 19:22 from Matthew Brenton.  That was the final goal of the night as the Juniors defeated the Rocket on the road 3 to 0.

Juniors goalie and Los Angeles King’s prospect Jean-Francois Berube stopped all 24 shots to earn the shutout victory and first star of the match.  Rocket goalie Evan Mosher stopped 21 shots and took the loss.  The Juniors were 0 for 2 on the power play while the Rocket went 0 for 3.  The P.E.I. Rocket is 10-7-1-2 while the Montreal Juniors are now to 9-8-0-1.

The Montreal Juniors will go for their third straight win tomorrow as they play the Wildcats in Moncton.  Then, they will return home and open up a four-game homestand.  They will host the Lewiston MAINEiacs Wednesday, at 7:35PM and the Gatineau Olympiques on Friday, at 7:35PM.  The Quebec Remparts will be in town Sunday, at 4:05PM.  Montreal will host the defending champs, the Drummondville Voltigeurs, on Tuesday, November 10th at 7:35PM.
