
Montreal Juniors Defeated 5-2 By Drakkar in Baie-Comeau

Baie-Comeau’s three goals in the first period would prove to be insurmountable for the Juniors on Sunday afternoon, falling 5-2 in the penalty filled matchup.
Baie-Comeau opened the scoring at 2:49 as Gabriel Bourque beat Jake Allen on a powerplay opportunity. Montreal’s Pat O’Keefe would respond just over two minutes later on tallying his fourth goal of the season to tie the game at one a piece. Two goals scored by Guillaume Goulet and Mike Villeneuve, in the span of two minutes and ten seconds would propel the Drakkar into the second period with a two goal lead.
Juniors goalie Jean-Francois Bérubé would replace Jake Allen to start the second period. Despite ample powerplay opportunities awarded in the second to both teams, only Baie-Comeau would find the back of the net on a Marc-Olivier Mimar goal.
With the Junior sdown 4-1 entering the third, Baie-Comeau would strike early again at 3:50, on a short handed goal by Mike Villeneuve for his 8th of the season, and second of the afternoon. Louis-Marc Aubry would score the lone Juniors goal of the period, bringing the final score to 5-2.
The Juniors will play their final away game of the regular on Tuesday night against Rimouski at 7:30pm. The team will then return home to play their final home games before the playoffs, against Rouyn-Noranda on Friday March 13th at 7:30, followed by a Sunday afternoon matchup against Val d’Or at 4:30pm.
