Montreal Impact Play Syrian Selection in Friendly Match - Wednesday
The Montreal Impact faces the Syrian National Selection, Wednesday at Saputo Stadium, in this season’s third international friendly (7:30 pm). With this match, Montreal should be looking to gain some confidence and perhaps score a goal, two things that seem to be lacking in the clubs previous 3 games. Montreal has recently been the victim of recent 4-0, 1-0 and 0-0 games with two of those being important USL regular season games.
“This game is important for us and for team motivation,” confirmed coach Marc Dos Santos. “We suffered two losses in our last regular season matches and we need to get back on track. Our intention is to win and offer a good performance to our fans. We are looking for a good result, as in every single one of our matches.”
Midfielders Ciaran O’Brien and Tyler Rosenlund, who who played against the Haitian selection on July 1st, could see some action on Wednesday before their tryout period ends on July 9th.
Look for Midfielder Leonardo Di Lorenzo, who missed the last two matches due to a thigh injury, to also take part in the match. while Defender Cédric Joqueviel (thigh) and midfielder Patrick Leduc (foot) will still be out of the lineup due to their injuries.
All other teammates, including recent re-hab Stefano Pesoli and team Captain Mauro Biello will be available to see some time on the pitch.
Tickets for the game on Wednesday are still available through Admission (514-790-1245 / admission.com) or at the ticket office of Saputo Stadium. Ticket prices vary between $10 and $30 (taxes included).
