With the unfortunate loss to Vancouver on Sunday, ending their quest for the USL championship, the Montreal Impact will now be reverting all their efforts towards the CONCACAF championship in which they are already well entrenched. The Impact, thus far 2-0-1 for 7 points will play its fourth game in the CONCACAF Champions League group stage  this evening against Joe Public FC (1-2-0; 3 points) at Hasely Crawford Stadium, in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago (8 pm: Fox Soccer Channel, bold TV, Radio-Canada.ca/sports, CBCSports.ca; midnight: CBC).

Not only have the Impact already defied all odds in order to reach this stage, but with a win, as well as a win from heavily favored Atlante FC against CD Olimpia, the Impact would qualify for the quarterfinal round. This would mean that your Montreal Impact would be playing soccer at least until February, leaving team president Joey Saputo with the unlikely but welcomed task of finding a suitable venue to host their home games!

In five games in the CONCACAF Champions League, the Impact has, thus far, allowed only one goal and if Joe Public's coach wishes to live up to his claim that his team would beat the Impact by 4 goals, he is going to have to do it without Gregory Richardson. Richardson, who leads the team in goals since the
beginning of the tournament, will miss the game due to a one-game suspension.
