So much for big predictions. It was not so long ago that Joe Public coach Derek King, after a 2-0 loss to the Impact in Montreal, said "we will win by 4 goals when we play the second game at home." They were 7 goals shy.

With a quick goal by Rocco Placentino as early as the 4 minute mark as well as another from Tony Donatelli at the 12 ( one of 2 for the night) after Joe Public tied it up, as well as the Impact's impeccable record of wins while leading at the half, this game was essentially over after the 1st. However after the heartbreaking way the Impact was defeated by Vancouver on Sunday, eliminating them from USL championship contention, the Impact seemed rejuvenated and a completely different team now knowing that they could concentrate on only one game at a time and that after tonight's win, they would have a well earned 2 week rest before their next game, here at Saputo Stadium on October 21st when they will play host to Olimpia of Honduras.

The meeting with Olimpia will be a game that counts, as Atalnte FC was unable to beat Olimpia in a parallel match last night. the combination of an Impact and Atlante win would have assured both teams of advancing to the quarterfinals. Montreal can now do this themselves by beating Olimpia on the 21st.
