Montreal Alouettes Grey Cup Parade Set For December 1st
While it appeared that all of Western Canada tried to rain on the Montreal Alouettes’ parade, what with alleged preferential treatment towards the Riders prior to the 98th Grey Cup matchup, it only seems fitting that the announced weather for the Als’ Grey Cup Championship parade is… Rain.
Come one and come all, but bring your raincoats as your Montreal Alouettes will be having a Grey Cup parade this Wednesday.
As per the Alouettes’ release:
To thank fans for their support, the Alouettes will share their championship with them this Wednesday, Nov. 1 in a parade down Montreal's Sainte-Catherine Street. The Alouettes will first be invited to City Hall at 9 a.m. to sign the city register before the parade begins at 11:40 a.m.
The parade will start at the corner of Crescent and Sainte-Catherine, moving down the city's main thoroughfare until the Quartier des spectacles. To conclude the event, the Alouettes' cheerleaders will perform a routine followed by a player presentation with the Grey Cup on an outdoor stage set at the main entrance of the Complexe, positioned at an angle facing the west side of Sainte-Catherine.
The Alouettes won the 98th Grey Cup tonight, defeating the Sakatchewan Roughriders 21-18 in front of 63,317 fans at Edmonton's Commonwealth Stadium. This marks the seventh Grey Cup title in franchise history (1949, 1970, 1974, 1977, 2002, 2009 and 2010) and the second in as many seasons.
