Was it lack of rest, lack of preparation or does Calgary simply have th Als' number? Henry Burris threw for 5 touchdowns including a Hail Mary pass and the Stampeders received and rushed for over 500 yards while Anthony Calvillo threw for two TD's but was also intercepted 3 times. In the Season's first 10 games, he had been intercepted a total of 10 times.

With only 5 days since their last game and only one practice before they met their western Rivals, perhaps the Als required more rest and more prep time, however this doesn't explain their less than stellar record vs western teams. With this loss, the Als are 1-4 vs the western division.

"It was definitely our worst game of the season" said Matthieu Proulx. "we didn't set the tone and lost the battles in turnover situations. Defensively, we have to be much more solid than that."

Étienne Boulay added that "...defensively we played on on our heels all night long."

"We made some mistakes". Said Paul Lambert. "we crested turnovers and we didn't control the clock. These are big aspects of the game that we need to improve. Hats off to Calgary, who played very well as they controlled both sides of the field."

An indication of the way the ball was bouncing for the Als on this evening was in the first 2 field goal attempts by Damon Duvall. After a rather inspiring set of drives that brought the Als within field-goal range which Duvall rang off the uprights leaving the Als scoreless after a Calgary touchdown the play before. On Duvall's next opportunity, he again hit the upright, ( what are the chances of that?!) but the ball took a Montreal bounce and caromed in for the 3 points.

The Als winning streak ends at 5 games and they will now  have until the 21st to rest, practice, study and contemplate in preparation for their next contest in Edmonton against the Eskimos.
