In a press release just recently made public by the Montreal Juniors, it was announced that Montreal Canadiens prospect Louis Leblanc has been invited to participate in the 2010 World Junior Hockey Championship Selection Camp.

Leblanc, who played for Harvard and did not make the squad last year, decided to leave the Crimson behind and make the jump to the busier QMJHL schedule and was promptly acquired by the Montreal Juniors, which has benefitted both parties concerned.

Leblanc leads the team in points and the Juniors are presently among the top 4 in the standings with games in hand.

Leblanc has, however,  been used sporadically when mentions of upper AND lower body injuries were leaked and reported. Upon speaking to Montreal Juniors president Martin Routhier, The Franchise was told that resting Louis was more of a precautionary measure since the World Juniors are a big goal of the young centre.

It is safe to say that the World Junior Championships, a favourite Canadian Boxing Day pastime, is indeed an exposition of the brightest and most promising future stars of the NHL and after last year’s snub, Leblanc will be looking to make up for lost time.

Read on for the official press release for dates and time schedules.
