The Montreal Juniors rolled their way through a successful weekend home stint where they dispatched of the previously unbeaten St John Seadogs (4-1, Friday) and the Val D’Or Foreurs (6-2, Saturday)

Juniors backup goaltender Étienne Marcoux was solid in both starts and will now pass the torch to Jean-François Bérubé who has been returned to the Juniors as his stay in the LA Kings’ training camp is done.

The team is almost intact with only one piece  missing, Louis Leblanc, who is expected to make his way back to the Juniors before this week is through.

Young guns trying to impress for Montreal in the last few games include Janos Hari who scored 2 goals against Val D’Or, before suffering an ankle injury. No news yet on the extent or recovery timeframe.

Trevor Parkes, who recently impressed the Redwings enough that they signed him to a 3 year entry level deal, picked up right where he left off last year and scored a goal in each of his 2 games played thus far with the Juniors. Watch for him to improve on last year’s rookie totals of  27 goals and 20 assists in 66 games played.

Read on for the two Juniors game recaps.
