Juniors Extend Win Streak as Chouinard scores 5 Against Mooseheads.
The Montreal Juniors walked into Halifax yesterday with the hopes of extending their 4 game winning streak. Captain Nicolas Chouinard singlehandedly ensured his team came out on top scoring a whopping 5 goals, 4 in the first period, en route to a 5-3 victory over the Mooseheads in the first of a 3-in-3 Maritime swing.
Chouinard, with those markers, now leads the juniors with 7 goals.
This win now puts the Juniors' streak at 5 consecutive games. Since their return to the QMJHL in 2008, the Juniors’ longest winning streak was 4. They attained this plateau twice in 2008 and once in 2009.

Halifax, October 8th, 2010 - The Montreal Juniors faced off against the Halifax Mooseheads at the Halifax Metro Center Friday night, winning the first of three away games with a final score of 6-3. The Juniors now hold a record of 6-1-2-0.
Juniors’ captain Nicolas Chouinard led the way, scoring the first four goals for the Montreal team in the first period. Charles Bety scored the first goal for the home team at 11:30, followed only a few minutes later with a goal by teammate Carl Gélinas at 16:07.
Nicolas Chouinard scored the only goal of the second period, his fifth of the night, at 12:55, assisted by Louis Leblanc and Philippe Lefebvre.
Charles Bety scored the only goal for the Mooseheads in the third period at 0:59, assisted by left winger Carl Gélinas. With less than a minute remaining the period, Philippe Lefebvre scored the final goal for the Juniors.
Montreal net minder Étienne Marcoux denied 28/31 shots. Mooseheads goaltender Mathieu Corbeil-Thériault stopped five of 13 shots on net and was replaced by Anthony Terenzio who made 19/20 saves.
The Montreal Juniors will head to Moncton as they face off against the Moncton Wildcats tomorrow night. They will play the Seadogs on Sunday in Saint-John, concluding their trip to the Maritimes.
