It should come as no surprise to anyone following the Montreal Canadiens that goaltender Jaroslav Halak was named the Molson Cup Player of the Month for December.
Halak who was instrumental, if not key in the Canadiens’ recent 6-1 road swing that allowed the Habs to presently sit in 7th place in the Eastern Conference at the halfway point of the season.
Carey Price was honoured in October and November and now December marks the third month in a row that a goaltender takes the title, based on the games’ three star selections.
This month, Halak’s 20 points were good enough to edge out another well performing Hab, Thomas Plekanec who was the runner-up with 15.
