Impact Pre-season Continues with 1-0 Loss to Rochester

The Montreal Impact lost 1-0 against the Rochester Rhinos Saturday afternoon, at Marina Auto Stadium in Rochester, New York in its 5th preseason match of training camp, its first game against a USSF Second Division club. 

The Rhinos scored the only goal of the match at the 9th minute. Following a free kick just outside the 18-yard box, midfielder Tyler Roselund, who is presently trying out with Rochester, took the rebound coming from goalkeeper Matt Jordan.

Thus far this pre-season, the Impact’s Journey has also taken them to Portugal in an effort to play high calibre teams already in mid-season form. Their opponents and pre-season record to date: 

February 19, 2010: Vs Select players form U de Quebec and Mcgill: 2-1 Win

February 24, 2010: Vs Sport Clube Freamunde, a second division Portuguese club: 5-1 Win

March 3, 2010: Vs second-division Spanish club RC Celta de Vigo: 2-1 Loss

March 4, 2010: Vs Portuguese third division club Boavista FC : 1-1 Draw

March 20, 2010; Vs USSF Second Division club Rochester Rhinos : 1-0 Loss  

The Impact  will be playing their next exhibition game, Wednesday, March 24th at 4 pm against the Charleston Battery (USL D2) in North Carolina.
