Impact Kick Off their 2010 Training Camp
The Montreal Impact open up their 17th training camp in club history on Monday, January 25th at the Bell Sports Complex in Brossard. The defending champions will train almost every day, as well as play a number of exhibition games in their new winter practice facility as well as undergo a series of medical tests the week before the camp's kickoff.
After this initial 4 week training, the team is Portugal bound, marking a third consecutive year that the team travels to Europe for a pre-season stint.
The Impact will set up in Portugal, from February 21 to March 5 and as has been the case in the past, will participate in a series of friendly games.
“This training site is excellent. Various professional and national teams have chosen this venue due to the quality of its facilities, its natural fields and the temperature,” declared Impact technical director Nick De Santis. “We will have the opportunity to play high level matches against teams that are at the peak of their season. Our objective is to play against 1st, 2nd and 3rd division teams. This trip will also give us the chance to see out of contract players and young local talent.”
The Impact will also hold a free two-day open camp on February 23rd and 24th at the Training Center of Melgaço (www.melgacosportscenter.com). If you are interested, send an email to info@impactmontreal.com, wit the mention “To the attention of Marc Dos Santos”.
