Good news for Impact fans as the team announced another core player locked down for 2 years.

The Montreal Impact announced Monday that its 2009 MVP, midfielder David Testo, had signed a new two-year deal with the club.

Testo, 28, was arguably, the Impact’s iron man starting in 26 games during his 3rd season with the Impact, His role being more of a defensive midfielder, he totalled one goal and one assist, and led the team with 38 fouls during that span. At the end of the season, his tenacity and strong play earned him accolades not only from his team, but he was also selected to the USL’s “All-League Second Team of the Year” for the first time in his career.

The Impact are methodically taking care of their roster needs by addressing the additions, extensions and deletions necessary to repeat last year’s performance and with a 2 year deal in the books with Testo, it is clear the tenacious, young American fits squarely in their plans.

For latter season healthy scratches Zanzan and Félix Brillant, not so much.
