The Montreal Impact have been eliminated from the USL playoffs by the Vancouver Whitecaps today. They were shut out 2-0 in the second and decisive match of their semi-final in front of 4,992 fans at
Swandgard Stadium. Montreal had won the first game in Montreal 1-0, however the 2 goal shutout in Vancouver allowed Vancouver to advance to the next round based on aggregate goals.

Jeff Clarke (37th minute) and Eduardo Sebrango (41st minute) did the damage for Vancouver and back-up goalkeeper Tyler Baldock, who replaced suspended Jay Nolly, earned the shutout in his hometown playoff debut.

Montreal, playing its 20th match in only 59 days, also picked up its fifth consecutive playoff loss on the road. The Impact will now leave Vancouver on Monday at noon, destination : Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago, to face Joe Public FC on Wednesday night as the CONCACAF playoffs still roll along, perhaps allowing Montreal to play past February.

Thank you, Impact for an exciting 2008 USL season and good luck going forward in the CONCACAF.
