Dec 09 White Back to Hamilton...Again

And just as quickly as that, poor Ryan White is back in Hamilton. 

After an administrative snafu forced White out of last night’s line-up against the Ottawa Senators, the Canadiens just announced he has been sent back down to the Bulldogs. 

For those not aware, it appears that after calling White up to join the Habs in Ottawa, both Canadiens GM Bob Gainey and Habs VP of hockey operations Julien Brisebois thought the other had notified the NHL of the roster change. 

As luck, or rather miscommunication would have it, neither did, and White was ruled ineligible to play and had to hit the showers after only a few shifts against the Sens. 

On the bright side, apparently, if a goal would have been scored while White was on the ice, it would not have counted. One has to wonder why this error was not found out by either the team or the NHL prior to the puck’s drop. 

Anyways, it appears White is the only one who suffers in all this. he is back with Hamilton and will await his next call-up.

If I were him, I’d call the NHL myself next time.
