Feb 10 Habs recall Ryan White from the Hamilton Bulldogs

The Habs have answered everyone’s call to add some beef to their line-up, to instil fear in the hearts of their opponents… They have called up Ryan White from the Hamilton Bulldogs. 

While many have been clamouring for a trade which would bring the Habs the likes of a Chris Neil or a Trent Hunter, Montreal has gone the same route as how they chose their GM: “do your research, look under every stone, see what’s out there and in the end, the best person was already in their organisation.”

In case my sarcasm hasn’t shown through yet, no , I do not believe this was the ultimate answer that we were hoping for. However, it IS a step in the right direction. 

Ryan White is a gritty, hard working forward who wants nothing more than a legitimate chance to play in the NHL. He knows his role and will drop ‘em if he has to. That can’t be underestimated on a team that clearly lacks this element of toughness.

Is White  the end-all be-all to solve the Canadiens’ intimidation or policing deficiency? No, but this was a step in the right direction as he will join a youth movement that is a lot more fearless than some would give them credit for: Price, Subban, Paccioretty, Eller, White…… Tinordi. Man, I want to see this team in 3 years. Just hope my heart can take it till then.   

Heck, I’ve been calling for Alex Henry’s call-up too…If the Habs get beat up by the Islanders tonight, hey, you never know!
