Shortly after finding out yet another Canadien has been added to the team's lengthy list of injuries, Montreal goes into New Jersey with a largely inexperienced team. Max Pacioretty, one of the 4 recent call ups, scored in the first period to tie the game at 1, but it was all New Jersey from there as Parise, Madden and Langenbrunner finish what Gionta started as the Devils dominate with a 4 to 1 win. The Canadiens are now playing with 7 forwards that are 23 years old or younger. Matt D'Agostini started his pro-career on fire, scoring 4 times in his first 5 games. However, he has now only scored once in his last 5, and is a minus 4 during that span as well. Montreal was attempting to win their fourth consecutive game, a feat that had not done yet so far this season. With so many injuries, Habs fans are hoping they will avoid losing 4 straight, also something not done so far this season.
