Gouchie Leads Juniors in 7-3 win over Lewiston

Montreal, March 7th, 2010 – The Montreal Juniors made their second stop in Lewiston today as they faced the MAINEiacs tonight.  Led by Jeremy Gouchie who had three goals and an assist, the Juniors pulled out the victory by the score of 7 to 3

Lewiston jumped on the board first with two goals from Pierre-Olivier Morin and Matthew Bissonnette.  Juniors leading scorer Jeremy Gouchie cut the deficit to a goal when he scored at 17:25 from Xavier Ouellet and Matthew Brenton. 

In the very physical second period, the Juniors stormed back as Chris Thorne scored a shorthanded goal to tie the game at 1:35.  Then, Nicolas Chouinard fired the puck home for his team high twenty-eighth of the season at 7:26. 

Although Michael Chaput tied it early in the third for Lewiston, the Juniors scored four unanswered goals to win this match 7 to 3Jeremy Gouchie scored two in the third to complete the hat trick while David Stich and Chris Thorne scored the other two. 

Juniors Jean-Francois Berube denied 26/29 shots in the win while Adrian Lemay stopped 25/30 shots in the loss.  The Juniors will play their last road match against the Moncton Wildcats tomorrow.  Montreal will finish the regular season with two home games against the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies at 7:35PM on Friday, March 12th, and Sunday, March 14th at 4:05PM.
