CFL - Alouettes' Larry Taylor Named Player of the Week (Week 2)

With two convincing wins in their first two starts, it is no surprise that the Montreal Alouettes have a member of their team named  as player of the week for two staright weeks. Kick returner Larry Taylor was named the CFL’s Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 2.

Taylor scored an 86-yard punt return touchdown in the Alouettes’ 50-16 win over the Eskimos and finished the game with 180 combined yards, including 128 on six punt returns and 33 on two kickoff returns.

Quarterback Anthony Calvillo and defensive tackle Keron Williams, who also had impressive games agaisnt Edmonton, were runners up for offensive & defensive honours, respectively.

The Als and their player of the week nominees and winners will face the Saskatchewan Roughriders at Regina’s Mosaic Stadium this Saturday, July 18 at 3 p.m. The Roughriders are also 2-0 this season.
